Operation Santa Claus is a project that provides Christmas gifts to adults with serious mental illness.
In Morgan County, there are people suffering from serious mental illnesses who would like to be remembered at Christmas.  Some of these people have no family or friends to support them.  Many do not have the financial ability to buy for themselves or are confined in hospital settings.  Even though this is an adult population, they are so appreciative of being remembered at Christmas.

You can help make Christmas a happier time for these individuals.  Operation Santa Claus provides gifts for patients at North Alabama Regional Hospital, and clients of the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama.

Here's how you can help:

1.  Call the MHA Office for the name of a person and a Wish List.  Shop for the person spending approximately $35.

2.  Give a tax deductible donation of approximately $35 to sponsor one person.  Make checks payable to the Mental Health Association and designate it for Operation Santa Claus.

3.  Buy gifts or give a donation of any amount.  See the list below for gift suggestions.  Gifts need to be new, suitable for an adult, unwrapped and delivered to  the collection site listed below by December 6.

4.  Make a dessert for the Operation Santa Claus party.  Call 353-1160 for details.

5. Come to our wrapping party to help wrap all the gifts.  Call 353-1160 for details.

You may choose to designate your gift as a memorial or honorarium.
